Cornerstone’s current business organization was established on 31st October 2008 through the merger of Critical Therapeutics and Cornerstone BioPharma. The newly merged entity is now named Cornerstone Therapeutics and is listed on NASDAQ under the symbol CRTX.
Cornerstone is a specialty pharmaceutical company focused on acquiring, developing and commercializing prescription products for the respiratory market. Cornerstone currently promotes five marketed products to respiratory-focused physicians and key retail pharmacies throughout the US with a specialty sales force of more than 60 people. Cornerstone also generates revenue from the sale of seven marketed product lines that includes products that it does not promote.
Cornerstone’s development activities are typically late stage projects leading to short term commercialization opportunities. The merger with Critical brought two earlier stage development programs into Cornerstone’s portfolio and these will likely be out licensed or become subject to collaborative development agreements while Cornerstone continues to focus on its commercialization strengths.
Cornerstone’s management team, Scientific Advisory Board and Board of Directors provides the company with the full complement of experience and skills to address all aspects of its development, commercialization and IPR strategies.
